Job Title: Vice President, Mission Advancement
Salary Range: $175,000-225,000

About the Position
The Vice President, Mission Advancement is responsible for leading Evergreen Goodwill's mission initiatives, focusing on workforce development, education, job placement and strategic fundraising both from grants and philanthropy. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is essential in developing programs and funding mechanisms to support and grow our comprehensive, free Mission services which empower individuals to transform their lives.
This leader is responsible for a team of over 70 people and the operation of five job training and education centers located in 5 counties. Our intention is to find a leader to grow our impact from the 6,100 people served last year to over 20,000 in 5 years. The ideal person for this role will have extensive experience developing and executing a strategic plan for a large non-profit, building and scaling community-centered programs for maximum impact, fundraising and securing grants, acting as a team player and developer of talent, communicating and representing the organization at a C-Suite level. On a personal level, this person is calm under pressure, brings positive energy and enthusiasm to the team, and has a "can do" attitude and sense of humor.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for growth and impact of Mission Advancement that aligns with Evergreen Goodwill's mission, vision, and overall strategy.
- Analyze workforce development trends and community needs to create innovative programming that addresses barriers to employment.
- Establish clear objectives and performance indicators to monitor progress and assess the effectiveness of mission programs and the team.
- Create a culture of performance, agility, ownership and teamwork within a team of over 70 individuals across 5 training centers.
- Be an inspirational leader who embodies our values and mission and leads the team with clarity and compassion.
- Oversee the design and execution of scalable job readiness and training programs that equip individuals with the skills necessary for sustainable employment.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging feedback from participants, staff, and stakeholders.
- Develop and implement a robust performance outcome measurement system to assess program impact and ensure alignment with community needs and organizational goals.
- Collaborate with local businesses and community organizations to identify employment opportunities and create partnerships that facilitate job placements.
- Advocate for policies that enhance workforce development and support individuals facing barriers to employment, engaging with local government and industry leaders to drive systemic change.
- Oversee the design and execution of a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including annual campaigns, major gifts, grant writing, and special events, to support mission initiatives.
- Develop strategic partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, and government agencies to create collaborative initiatives that further our mission.
- Act as a liaison for Evergreen Goodwill in the community, representing the organization at public events, meetings, and forums to promote awareness of our mission and services.
- Develop and implement communication strategies that effectively convey Evergreen Goodwill's mission and the breadth of our services.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and updates to the Board of Directors and key stakeholders on program progress, challenges, and success stories.
- Develop and oversee the budgets for Mission Advancement organization, ensuring funds are allocated appropriately to support program activities and strategic initiatives.
- Monitor expenditures and ensure compliance with organizational policies and grant requirements, providing regular financial reports to the CEO, CFO and Board of Directors.
- Identify and pursue new funding opportunities to support existing and future mission programs, including grants, corporate sponsorships, and individual contributions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in workforce development and/or fundraising within a nonprofit environment.
- Proven track record of successfully achieving fundraising goals and managing budgets.
- Widely known as a remarkable leader of people and developer of talent.
- Strong understanding of community resources and the ability to engage and partner with various stakeholders.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff, volunteers, and community members.
- Experience working with diverse populations and a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fundraising management software.
Work Environment
This position operates primarily in an office environment, with occasional travel to community sites and events. Flexibility in schedule may be required to meet the needs of the organization and community.
