Organizational Expectations:
As a Product Owner Senior or Product Owner Lead on the Pay.gov Product Team, you will be responsible for leading, defining and driving the product roadmap, managing priorities within cross-functional teams and making smart, data driven decisions to have the biggest business impact. You will support the organization by developing and implementing product offerings and processes to scale the business. Develops product strategy, drives operational plan and supports product enablement (marketing).
General Responsibilities:
Product Owner Senior:
• Provides leadership, as part of our product development process, representing the voice of the customer during product definition, product UI design and bug triage.
• Refines product backlog based on business value and customer needs Translates business priorities into actionable, clearly communicated Product Features and User Stories that articulate the ‘What' and the ‘Why' for technology.
• Coordinate product development and collects and analyzes data to determine the effect of products in production.
• Gathers, analyzes, and prioritizes inputs from our customers, internal customers and partners and synthesizes them into a clear and justifiable set of product requirements that will drive the development of our product vision.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on requirement elicitation Develops working knowledge of software and technologies that support the products. Provides timely and accurate information and status updates to functional leaders.
• Works closely with customers/agencies to identify key needs and appropriate product solutions.
• Identifies new business opportunities and creates appropriate business plans.
• Reviews proposed new market opportunities for consideration.
• Makes decisions regarding product team features and trade-offs.
Product Owner Lead:
• Ensure timely delivery of product requirements and align with release plans Supports Product Team development with training, skills development, and product knowledge.
• Establishes product management best practices and gains buy- in from Product Owners.
• Defines, manages, and executes initiatives to support a product line that contributes to the business and performance objectives.
• Partners with multiple internal stakeholders (i.e., Agency Implementation, Security, Technology, Operations, etc.), and external partners to create and disseminate information regarding changes/updates to product offerings and experiences, and coordinate and ensure deliverables.
• Delivers regular product reviews and assessments regarding various aspects of the project offerings and services across product lines.
• Monitor and analyzes product performance and assess product needs and opportunities through a thorough understanding of Product Health, Stakeholder needs, competitive field and related opportunities/threats.
• Functions as a strategic leader within the Product Team to ensure the entire product line of offerings is integrated.
• Works with Customer Success and UX to engage with Agencies to develop knowledge base.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
• Adheres to the Bank's attendance policies through regular and prompt attendance.
Education and Experience:
• Product Owner Senior: Two years of college and 7 years of professional work experience or Bachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years of professional work experience
• Product Owner Lead: Two years of college and 9 years of professional work experience or Bachelor's degree and minimum of 7 years of professional work experience
