Director of Environmental Services
Primary Job Purpose: To direct, supervise, manage, and coordinate the programs, activities, and inter-departmental services of the Environmental Services Department including building maintenance services, custodial services, laundry services, and transportation department.
Customer Service: Adherence to the MOSES program to include Mission, Ownership, Success, Excellence, and Service.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and Experience: Position requires: four years of increasingly responsible facility maintenance experience, including two years of supervisory or lead responsibility. A high school education and/or Occupational College diploma relating to the following areas: welding, electrical repairs, plumbing repairs, carpentry, and equipment installation. Or a minimum of four year's experience in the following areas: general contracting, construction management, HVAC, electrical repairs, plumbing repairs, carpentry, and equipment installation in an institutional or commercial setting. Must be familiar with and able to use tools proficiently for the above areas.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Material and Equipment used but not limited to: Is able to utilize and be able to demonstrate the use of a wide variety of hand tools and power tools to perform the essential functions of the position. Occasionally uses motorized vehicles such as: riding lawn mower, small tractor, and pickup. Is able to effectively utilize and navigate computer programs including but not limited to Word, Gmail, Excel, Bluebeam, iView and electronic work order system.
Working Environment/Physical Activities: Employee is often required to work indoors and/or outdoors in various weather conditions, depending on type of work required. Frequently exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, noise, and other hazards in the worksite area. Sits, stands, bends, walks, reaches, lifts, pushing carts/wheelchairs, keyboarding, and moves intermittently during working hours. Often required to move about the campus regularly being on your feet for extended periods. Is subject to physically ill residents as well as potentially hostile and emotionally upset residents and/or families.
Working Hours: May work beyond normal working hours, some required weekends, occasional after hours as the severity and supervisory needs of the situation dictates. Director may be required to report to work on weekends and after hours due to maintenance issues that may occur where supervisory responsibility is a necessity or scope is beyond staff capacity. Periodic weekend rotation coverage as administrator on call is required.
Working Location: This is not a remote position and work must be performed in-person.
