Accountant Sr I/II (Hybrid Schedule) (Finance)
Position Description
The position is part of a team responsible for gas accounting for several pipeline assets under the Midstream segment. The areas of responsibility include invoice processing, monthly accounting close, recording journal entries, monthly and quarterly income/expense variance analyses, account reconciliations and internal/external reporting. We offer a hybrid work schedule (Monday-Wednesday in office, Thursday-Friday remote).
Job Duties:
- Process payments for transport expense and OBA cash outs
- Prepare monthly journal entries for month-end close
- Track reimbursable AFE projects and amortize related prepayments
- Perform monthly income/expense variance analyses
- Complete monthly income packages for internal management review
- Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
- Perform quarterly fluctuation analysis for use by the Financial Reporting group and external auditors
- Perform regulatory reporting (TXRRC, FERC, EIA) - monthly, quarterly and annually
- Participate in periodic in-house Dart system testing
- Assist with audit data requests as needed
- Assist with other pipeline assets as needed
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA is a plus
- Minimum 5 years accounting experience in the oil and gas industry
- Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes, with the ability to solve complex problems through solution oriented analysis
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (vlookups, advanced formulas, etc.)
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated and work independently with minimal direct supervision
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize work and manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be a team player and work with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism
- Overtime may be required at month/year-end or as needed
