The Morsani College of Medicine includes the School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences (SPT&RS), Physician Assistant Program, and Medical Education and Graduate Education Programs. The school includes the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program, an Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency Program, and the USF Professional Athletic Training (AT) Program. The DPT professional program enrolls approximately 50 students per class each year and is ranked in the top 35 per the US News and World Report. The USF Athletic Training Program was the first graduate professional AT program to be housed in a College of Medicine and currently has one of the largest and most diverse student populations in the country. The school's research mission generates over $5M in funded extramural research. The school also provides clinical services at the USF Physical Therapy Center in collaboration with other healthcare specialties. Numerous area hospitals and healthcare practices (including Tampa General Hospital, James A. Haley VA Hospital, Lakeland Regional Health, Moffitt Cancer Center, Advent Heath, HCA Healthcare, etc.) offer clinical, educational, and research affiliations.

Position Summary:

The School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences is seeking adjunct instructors for teaching opportunities within our programs. Adjunct faculty should have a focus on rehabilitation science or a related field such as anatomy and physiology, exercise physiology, kinesiology, or biomechanics. Additionally, adjunct faculty are required to mentor students and are encouraged to engage in college, university, community, and professional service activities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• The adjunct faculty are assigned to teach courses for the School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences.
• The adjunct faculty may serve on college committees and perform community and professional service activities where appropriate.
• Teaching assignments will be made according to the School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences, and programs' curricular needs and/or priorities. Courses may include subject areas such as Anatomy and Physiology, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, and Kinesiology focused on rehabilitation science and clinical populations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree from an accredited institution in the teaching discipline or master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).
• All assigned classes will be in-person. Must have reliable transportation and be able to drive to campus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Doctoral degree in a related field (Anatomy and Physiology, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Biomechanics). Clinical faculty with joint degrees (DPT, ATC, MPH, etc.) are encouraged to apply.
• Prior teaching experience in the teaching discipline or a related field.
