Job Description
Special Education EAs are student-based instructional and behavioral supports for students receiving special
education services in both the general education and special education settings.
Instructional Support
Mentor, coach, and inspire students to be engaged in classroom assignments Reinforce and review concepts and skills. Assist students in activities initiated by the classroom teacher. Carry out the instructional program as planned by the teacher Monitor and check student work Gather/track data as requested Assist small groups or individual students as requested Support SPED students individually and/or within groups
Organizational Support
Before and After school duties including, but not limited to bus loading/unloading, arrival and dismissal
assistance, monitoring students in transition between programs
Hallway monitoring and ensuring students follow the RHINO Way Support operational and academic staff during special events Materials support as needed including but not limited to producing materials, setting up activities,
collecting/distributing work to students
Behavior Management Support
Be a positive influence on all staff and students Observe and chart data as requested Circulate classrooms/areas with students to provide support as needed
