Summary:
This position will provide knowledge of mining engineering, technical expertise, project planning and development, project management, mentoring, and business development/marketing services primarily in support of mining and abandoned mine reclamation projects primarily related to mine subsidence and mine subsidence control or mitigation. Projects will be primarily located in Pennsylvania (both the Bituminous coal and Anthracite regions) , Maryland, West Virginia, Kentucky, and O hio, but may also be located in other Appalachian states or elsewhere across the country. Projects will be completed in accordance with appropriate state and federal regulations and accepted engineering standards. Tasks may involve site investigations, abandoned mine inspections, evaluation of reclamation techniques (including innovative technologies), designs, and/or construction management related to mining and abandoned mine reclamation primarily focused on mine subsidence and mine subsidence control or mitigation. An understanding of the geology of Appalachian coal seams and the associated mining techniques will be beneficial. Experience with plans and specifications, property owner access agreements, and environmental permitting will also be beneficial. Registration as a professional engineer in Pennsylvania is required. Registration as a professional engineer in any of the other Appalachian states is a plus.
