Decorative Hardware Design Representative (Engineering)
Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Meet and greet prospects and clients visiting the showroom with enthusiasm and a helpful attitude.Assist customers by phone, in person and electronically with sales and services of locksets and accessories, commercial, cabinet, bath and storage hardware and other finish hardware used in the industry.Answers to inquiries to the decorative hardware department and direct to the proper staff. Return phone calls to clients at the direction of the hardware specialist.Follow up with customers by phone or email to notify them of product availability for pick up.Contact suppliers on availability and cost on special order hardware products. Confirm pricing and ship dates on purchase orders with suppliers.Assemble picture books for customers to see their selections for new and remodeling projects at the directions of the hardware specialist.Work with clients on their hardware selections and process orders through the system.Maintain displays in good working order. Maintain an adequate supply of product literature and a current product information file on hardware provided by current vendors.Be a source of product information on hardware to store, hotline, millwork and contractor sales personnel.Perform other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned.
Education/Experience
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required. Experience in the hardware/lumber industry preferred
Other Requirements
Possess a strong willingness to learn the productsRetail sales experience preferred.DIY home improvement knowledgeMust pass pre-employment drug screen Maintenance of regular attendance, work evenings and required Saturdays

Understanding of customer needs in home dcor. Superior problem- solving abilities along with a can- do attitudeAbility to make sound and confident recommendation to customersAbility to provide a great customer experience in a retail environmentVerbal & Written Communication skillsWilling to obtain other training if deemed necessary in performance of responsibilities and continuing education
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Normal office conditions apply. Employee must have clear, close vision for reading and computer work. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, balance, stoop, grasp, talk, hear, and operate computer keyboard. Will occasionally lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
