Senior Program Manager - Research - School of Public Health (Finance)
We are looking for a Full-Time Senior Program Manager of Research to join the UTHealth School of Public Health in Houston, TX. In this position, you will develop, plans, and measures the UTHealth Houston Institute on Aging research collaborations and core programs. You'll oversee the general running of research activities in the Institute on Aging. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to strategic operations, communications, research infrastructure development, program management, planning and coordination.

1.Oversees all aspects of program and project activities across the IOA research portfolio, including core initiatives. Sets timelines, assigns responsibilities, and ensures alignment with institutional priorities. Monitors project milestones and deliverables, and provides strategic direction and hands-on guidance to faculty, staff, and research personnel.
2.Measures the performance and impact of IOA Core programs, implementing evaluation frameworks and tracking KPI's to assess success. Utilizes data to inform continuous improvement and aligns program outcomes with the overall mission of the IOA.
3.Ensures programmatic and regulatory compliance, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of internal policies, federal regulations, and funding agency requirements. Oversees internal audits, certifications, and ensures all personnel hold appropriate licenses and credentials relevant to their roles.
4.Coordinates activities and deliverables for active research grants, including developing timelines, tracking progress, managing reporting requirements, and serving as a liaison between principal investigators, research staff, and administrative units.
5.Provides strategic guidance to upper management, communicating key developments, risks, and opportunities. Develops and delivers regular progress reports, presentations, and dashboards to keep leadership informed of project status and research outputs.
6.Manages and cultivates partnerships with internal departments, identifying opportunities for collaboration, interdisciplinary research, and resource-sharing. Works closely with administrative and scientific leaders to promote a unified strategy across units.
7.Prepares complex grant proposals and progress reports for submission to private foundations, federal agencies, and other funding bodies. Collaborates with the Office of Sponsored Projects and Finance to ensure accurate budgeting, submission compliance, and timely reporting.
8.Partners with faculty investigators to support research success, providing project management support for study design, implementation, and dissemination. Ensures faculty have access to the necessary resources, data, and administrative support to achieve their goals.9.Performs other duties as assigned to enhance aging research and promote clinical innovation within the Institute and the Department.
Certification/Skills:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.
