Data Science Strategy Lead (Information Technology)

This newly created individual contributor role will report to the Associate Director of Data Science Strategy and will have 2 high level responsibilities:
Democratization and business enablement of data science products developed by the Data Science Strategy Team Hands on keyboard end-to-end delivery of priority identified Data Science use cases.
This role requires a blend of technical expertise and business acumen. In turn, it offers high visibility by working on some of the most important and rewarding business opportunities we face in commercial analytics. These opportunities include trade promotion optimization, ecommerce sales analytics, revenue growth management, advanced marketing measurement, digital audience optimization, and zero- and first-party consumer analytics.
This role is a great opportunity for seasoned individual contributor data scientists who are looking to pivot towards a more business-facing position. Ideal candidates will possess strong business gravitas, demonstrated through effective public relations and marketing of data science solutions, while seamlessly transitioning to hands-on technical work when needed.
In this role, you will:
Develop and implement a data science product business enablement program (e.g., power user training initiatives, business engagement campaigns, model enhancement request intake and tracking, adoption reporting) to ensure data science products developed by the team are effectively integrated into critical business processes and utilized to extract maximum business value.
Be a champion for Data Science driven business insights by utilizing existing models to proactively mine actionable business insights, acting as a technical expert in products developed by the Data Science Strategy team, establishing processes for validating model outputs and troubleshooting issues.
Define ad-hoc data science use cases, propose potential modeling approaches, assess feasibility, estimate effort and data requirements, draft delivery plans.
Build data science models utilizing K-C's Microsoft cloud stack: acquire, cleanse, and harmonize data, identify and implement appropriate modeling techniques.
Engage stakeholders, including product and business teams, through frequent check-ins, progress updates, visualizations, and interactive dashboards designed for non-technical audiences.
Interpret model outputs, draw actionable insights, present findings, and make decision recommendations to cross-functional and senior leadership teams.

Critical Technical Skills:
5+years of experience with hands-on involvement in data science projects (research or consulting experience is a plus; experience in CPG/Retail, Digital Marketing, e-Commerce, or Revenue Management preferred)
A bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or Mathematics) – A master's degree in a quantitative field is preferred and will be accepted in lieu of 2 years of experience.
Proficiency in SQL and any one other programming language (e.g., Python, R, C++, Minitab, SAS, Matlab, or VBA)
Proficiency in any data visualization software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, D3, Shiny, ggplot)
Experience in machine learning methods (e.g. multivariate regression, feature engineering, XGBoost, elastic nets, bayesian regression, clustering/segmentation, CLV/RFM)
Familiarity with mathematical optimization is a plus (e.g. linear and non-linear optimization, mixed integer programming, knowledge of optimization engines such as CPLEX or Gurobi)

Salary Range: $140,000 - $174,000 USD
