This position reports into Global Head of R&D Analytical and Microbiology and is based at Summit, NJ (As the headquarters move to Summit NJ, there will be a brief time where the expectation is to visit the Skillman, NJ location).

Pay: $141,000 - $192,000
What you will do
The Manager, Advanced Analytical Models and Methods is responsible for managing research projects, ensuring project timelines are met, providing scientific direction, and leading research and development activities:
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement advanced quantitative analytical models and methods to assess and predict product stability, ingredient/material compatibility, and product sensory attributes.
• Lead a team of scientists to conduct in-depth data analysis and provide actionable insights
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization
• Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance analytical capabilities
• Lead and direct research projects to identify opportunities for improvements and achieve business goals
• Ensure project timelines, milestones, and deliverables are met
• Provide scientific direction and leadership for research and development activities
• Manage and coordinate activities with internal and external teams
• Hire, motivate, develop, and mentor staff for employee growth
• Present on programs at senior management meetings to ensure scientific integrity and quality of data
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
• Masters Degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Materials Science or relevant scientific discipline (PhD preferred)
• 8-10 years of experience in the development and application of chemometric models for product characterization
• Experience in materials characterization and developing and applying analytical test methods in a consumer product setting
• Strong proficiency in statistical analysis tools (e.g. PCA, PCR, and PLS) and programming languages such as Python, SAS, MATLAB
• Proven track record of leading successful research and development projects and delivering impactful results
• Experience with project management and meeting deadlines
Desired Qualifications
• Experience with developing test methods and applying a wide variety of Analytical techniques methods using instrumentation such as SEM, DSC, TGA, LC/MS, GC/MS
• Experience with formulation chemistry across a wide variety of product types (e.g. emulsions, suspensions, solid oral dosage forms) in a consumer product environment
• Strong knowledge of organic chemistry with experience in drug and impurity degradation profiling
• 5-8 years of related experience in a managerial role
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with global cross-functional teams and external partners

• Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $141,000 - $192,000 . This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate's skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
