The salary for this position starts at $25.06 hourly. We take into consideration an individuals background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of other benefits and earned time off that vary depending on part-time or full-time status. 1. Job Summary: The Nutritionist is responsible for providing direct client service which may include assessing the nutritional status of clients, providing nutritional recommendations and education and assisting with meal planning. The Nutritionist works with other program areas in providing comprehensive service to the client. This position will create a healing atmosphere that promotes whole-person wellbeing in accordance with YMCA core values of caring, equity, honesty, respect and responsibility. 2. Essential Functions: Meet directly with clients to assess nutritional status, create nutritional goals and provide recommendations which may include meal planning. Assist to develop nutrition education curriculum within relevant areas of expertise. Deliver nutritional education programs utilizing informational materials or referring to community resources. Collaborate with other program areas, team members, and community professionals to provide comprehensive health and wellbeing service. Maintain client records and charting.. Administer, track and evaluate health history questionnaires, nutritional assessments and other pre-participation documentation with regard to individual nutritional programs. Promote and sell nutritional programs, services, and products while achieving monthly revenue and session goals. Maintain and enhance knowledge of current clinical practice, strategies, and developments. May represent the YMCA in the community, participating in public relations and promotional activities as needed. Actively practices referral to other integrative health and wellbeing disciplines within the wellbeing team. Develop and deliver highly engaging educational content and curriculum for both, virtual and in-person mission delivery operations. Advisor on nutrition and philosophy of whole-person wellbeing when the organization is establishing new culture, products, programs, and services. Assist welcoming, scheduling/processing payment, and checking-in clients 3. Relationships: This position reports to the Senior Director of Integrative Health and Wellbeing who reports to the Vice President of Integrative Health and Wellbeing. The incumbent interacts with members and clients and responds to their needs and provides feedback in a professional manner. The incumbent is expected to treat members and staff with respect and responsibility. 4. Qualifications: Required Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition or related field. Current Nutritionist/Dietitian License/Registration in the State of Minnesota (or Wisconsin if applicable). Experience counseling adults one-on-one and group setting. Experience developing and teaching nutrition curriculum. Demonstrated customer service skills and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to lead an individual or group and motivate others to achieve their health and wellbeing goals. Demonstrated ability working with a diverse population and ability levels. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations. HIPAA Compliant Flexibility to travel and deliver services at multiple locations Available evenings and weekends Preferred 2 to 5 years of experience in the holistic health and wellness field. Masters in functional or human nutrition or; Bachelors of Science in nutrition accompanying a certification in functional medicine/nutrition. Training in natural food culinary arts/natural foods chef 5. Physical Demands: Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time. 6.
