POSITION SUMMARY: Supervises youth staff and coordinates programmatic activities to ensure program compliance with Federal, State, Local regulations and Corporate policies, practices and procedures.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Assigns, monitors, and supervises coordinated activities of divisional staff that include all goals and objectives.
Evaluates projects through maintenance of records, documentation of activities, follow-up and preparation of reports.
Attends various meetings, networks with community groups and other agencies to ensure coordination relating to divisional needs.
Ensures contract compliance with outside agencies.
Maintains knowledge of Federal, State, Local, and corporate mandates relating the purpose and standard of program offered.
Maintains an awareness of community labor market trends.
Addresses concerns as they arise with customers and employees.
Facilitates communication between division and youth center staff.
Participate in hiring and training of staff.
Ensures that youth centers are well kept and maintained.
Implements safety programs and procedures and ensures that employees follow them; encourages staff to participate in monthly safety topics and contests.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises at least two employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities following the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in a related field; or six years' directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Moderate computer skills required for data entry, Word, Excel, and other software programs, as required for the position.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees, or organizations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Access to transportation, a California driver's license, and the minimum vehicle insurance needed by law.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: Will require weekly travel to local Proteus offices or events at 40% of the weekly schedule and other assigned divisional areas. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Employees are regularly required to stand and use their hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to walk: reach with hands and arms; sit, kneel, stoop, climb, or balance.

Ability to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and ability to maneuver a dolly.
