Benefit Strategy Lead, Local Market Products - Cigna Healthcare - Remote (Finance)
Key Responsibilities:
Product Development Collaboration: Work alongside the Product Development team to design and enhance commercial insurance products, ensuring the integration of benefit plans that meet both market needs and regulatory requirements.
Regulatory & Compliance Management: Partner with the State Regulatory and Compliance teams to ensure that all benefit plans are in full compliance with state-specific insurance regulations, filing requirements, and guidelines.
Benefit Plan Design & Implementation: Assist in the development of benefit plans associated with commercial insurance products, ensuring they align with internal goals, regulatory standards, and client expectations.
State Filings & Approvals: Support the preparation, submission, and tracking of state filings for new and modified benefit plans, collaborating with external and internal stakeholders to facilitate timely approvals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams, including Legal, Actuarial, Underwriting, and Sales, to ensure that benefit plans are accurately represented, priced, and communicated to clients.
Ongoing Regulatory Monitoring: Stay updated on regulatory changes at both the state and federal levels that impact benefit plans and commercial insurance products, ensuring the company's offerings remain compliant and competitive.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain thorough documentation of product development processes, regulatory filings, and compliance reviews. Provide regular updates and reports to leadership on product and compliance statuses.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher preferred.
6+ years of experience in product development or regulatory compliance within the insurance industry.
Management experience highly preferred.
Strong understanding of state-specific insurance regulations and filings required.
Experience working with benefit plan design and implementation in commercial insurance products is highly preferred.
Skills:
5+ years of in-depth knowledge of developing and implementing benefit plan designs required.
Familiarity with state filing requirements, mental health parity requirements and benefits systems highly preferred.
Strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams preferred.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate regulatory concepts and product details to various stakeholders.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 128,500 - 214,100 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
