Logistics Internship - 2nd Shift (Finance)

Lakeside Book Company is seeking an enthusiast Logistics Intern to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in shipping operations, from data and inventory management to logistics support. This internship is designed to provide you with valuable skills and insights into the daily workings of a fast-paced warehouse environment. Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinator the activities of employees within the department.
• Assign, train, and redirect tasks to employees as needed.
• Assist with unloading trucks using forklift equipment, as needed, to wrap pallets and staging freight.
• Organize shipping paperwork (BOLs, invoices, packing slips).
• Organize products within the warehouse for easy access and inventory control.
• Verify completed orders prior to shipment and investigate missing parcels as needed .
• Discuss suggested improvements and concerns with the Supervisor.
• Be a leader for the shipping team - helping to foster a positive and collaborative working environment.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Good organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges.
• Basic knowledge of warehouse operations and safety protocols is a plus.
• Previous forklift experience is preferred.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs throughout an 8 to 10-hour shift.
• Ability to bend, lift, squat, stoop, walk, and climb throughout an 8 to 10-hour shift.

Pay, Shift, & Location

• $20.00/hr
• Shift - 12:00pm to 8:00pm, Monday-Friday, with overtime as needed that could include Saturday.
• Location - Indy North: 5550 W. 74 th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46268
• Internship Duration - 8 to 12-weeks
