Position Summary:

The Research Summer Student will support postdoctoral fellows and graduate students in their research by assisting with various experimental techniques under close supervision. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative research environment, contributing to gastrointestinal (GI) research.

Position Key Accountabilities:

• Cell Culture: Perform mammalian and organoid cell culture techniques.
• Molecular Biology Techniques: Conduct experiments including DNA and RNA extraction, PCR, qRT-PCR, immunofluorescence assays, and Western blotting, etc.
• Lab Maintenance: Assist with inventory management, including stocking supplies and preparing solutions/media.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records and keep reagent catalogs up to date.
• Lab Organization: Help maintain the general lab environment, ensuring equipment is functional, the lab is organized, and cleanliness is upheld.

Minimum Education: High school graduate and current enrollment in a collegiate university

Minimum Experience: none required.

Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
