Learning and Development Specialist-Austin, TX (Finance)

Position Overview
The Learning and Development Specialist will facilitate training programs to support employee development that is aligned with organizational goals. This role focuses on onboarding, performance improvement, and career development, ensuring employees have the resources needed for success and growth supporting the Learning and Development Manager. This position is a full-time role based in Texas.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the design, development, and implementation of learning programs, workshops, and e-learning courses that align with organizational goals and employee needs.
• Deliver training sessions, workshops, and learning events to ensure employees gain necessary skills and knowledge.
• Assist in creating and executing onboarding processes, ensuring new hires are integrated smoothly and effectively.
• Collaborate with managers to identify skill gaps and create tailored learning plans that address team and individual development needs.
• Assist in developing and implementing career development initiatives, including coaching, mentoring programs, and individual development plans.
• Develop and curate learning content, materials, and resources that support various learning programs.
• Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs through surveys, feedback sessions, and performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement.
• Track and analyze learning metrics, trends, and feedback to report on learning effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support the administration and maintenance of learning management systems (LMS) and other digital learning tools.
• Work with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external vendors to identify and deliver learning solutions.
Essential Duties
• Conduct live and virtual training sessions, facilitating group discussions, and encouraging engagement.
• Manage multiple learning and development projects, ensuring timely and quality execution aligned with strategic goals.
• Support compliance training initiatives to ensure employees are aware of required policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Promote and communicate available learning and development resources and upcoming training programs to employees.
• Handle the logistics of scheduling, tracking, and coordinating training sessions and workshops.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Development, Education, Organizational Development/Psychology, or related field recommended.
• 2-4 years of experience in learning and development, talent management, instructional design, or a related HR function.
Work Requirements
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Must be 18 years in age or older.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for creating materials and effectively engaging with diverse audiences.
• Ability to facilitate training sessions, workshops, and virtual learning events, adapting style to audience needs.
• Experience managing multiple projects, including planning, scheduling, and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to work well with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to recommend and implement creative learning solutions.
