County of Riverside
Crime and Intelligence Analyst I (Pool) (Finance)
This recruitment is intended to establish a pool of qualified candidates for the permanent Crime and Intelligence Analyst I position. The pool will not be used to fill any immediate vacancies but will instead be utilized to fill future vacancies within the Sheriff's Office throughout the County.
Incumbents perform entry level work involved with assisting law enforcement staff in the analysis of suspected or documented criminal activity; collect, compile, prepare, and evaluate statistical data; and perform other related duties as required. A bachelor's degree in crime analysis, criminal justice, statistics, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field is highly desired.
The incumbents will be required to travel throughout Riverside County. Additionally, the incumbents may be required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and be available to work overtime as needed.
The Crime and Intelligence Analyst I is a natural progression underfill for the classification of Crime and Intelligence Analyst II. Incumbents are eligible to promote to Crime and Intelligence Analyst II upon successful completion of their probationary period, which would include a satisfactory performance evaluation and any additional qualification requirements. Failure to meet the requirements to promote at the end of the probationary period will result in incumbents being returned to their former County classification or new hires being probationary released.
