General Description
This individual will participate in an internship program with an anticipated duration of 3 to 6 months. This individual will be involved in actuarial, underwriting, or business analytics projects. Projects may include claim reserving, pricing, underwriting, forecasting, rate or system testing, analysis of provider reimbursement, data analytics, data visualization, or other tasks assigned.
Responsibilities
The intern may be assigned a wide variety of tasks. This will be dependent on department workload and priorities as well as the individual's strengths, skillset, and background. Tasks may vary from routine work to complex, multi-step projects.
Qualifications
• Pursuing or completed a bachelor's degree from an accredited college required; math, actuarial, quantitative, or business degree preferred.
• A passing score on 1 or more SOA exams preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.
• Ability to perform detailed calculations and independently solve complex problems.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Motivated with a strong interest in learning new skills and tasks.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.

Environment
This position currently functions as a hybrid role working from both home and in-office environments. Any home office setting must be conducive to all guidelines outlined by the organization. This role is required to regularly attend in-person meetings, the frequency of which is determined by management based on departmental or organizational needs.
