Quality Systems Engineer (Engineering)
What you will do
Lead the organization's internal audit system to maintain certification in compliance to IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 and Customer Specific Requirements
How you will do it
Facilitate & manage ongoing training & development of internal auditors.
Work with process owners to support and improve the Quality Management System and to ensure that products and processes comply with IATF 16949 and customer requirements.
Interacts with external auditors, supporting audits and actions
Provide support to plant or support sites as assigned, including audits, training, coaching, etc.
Provide training in QMS, Core Tools or other quality system, regional or global, as required.
Assists assigned support and plant sites with 8D's addressing internal or external findings and corrective actions.
Develops and tracks Key Process Indicators (KPI's), as defined.
What we look for
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field required.
5 years minimum overall experience and 3 years minimum experience as a Lead IATF 16949 Internal Auditor
Familiarity with Automotive Customer Specific Requirements, CQI's, and VDA
Strong knowledge using the automotive process approach, including AIAG Core Tools; APQP & Control Plan, PPAP, FMEA, SPC & MSA.
Strong knowledge in problem solving methodologies
Preferred
Excellent organizing, interpersonal, and communication skills with proven leadership skills and decision-making abilities.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing procedures, production methods, shop standards, team building, SPC, and modern quality assurance applications.
What we do here
Our Holland, Michigan plant manufactures batteries for jet skis, ATVs, 4-wheelers and snowmobiles. Our facility opened in 2017, employs 15 people and operates six days per week. We are actively involved in our local community and our employees volunteer with a variety of local organizations.
