Payroll Manager (Administrative)
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
Oversee the processing of bi-weekly/monthly payroll for all employees
Will be responsible for processing payroll for several companies within our Corporate structure, which includes multi-state processing.
Ensure accurate and timely calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
Ensure accurate records are maintained for each employee, including salary, pay rates, leave, and other payroll-related information.
Payroll Systems Management
Manage and troubleshoot the payroll system to ensure smooth operation.
Work with HRIS (Human Resource Information System) or payroll software to automate payroll processes and ensure data accuracy.
Provide training to staff on payroll-related procedures and systems.
Employee Support and Communication
Serve as the point of contact for employee payroll inquiries and resolve any discrepancies or concerns.
Provide clear communication to employees regarding pay-related issues, including deductions, tax withholdings, and benefits.
Assist employees with understanding their pay statements and benefits.
Audit and Record Keeping
Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy in payroll processing and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Maintain detailed payroll records and provide documentation for audits as required.
Ensure confidentiality and security of payroll records and personal employee data.
Team Leadership
Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to coordinate efforts and improve overall payroll processes.
Assist in the implementation of payroll policies, best practices, and improvements.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance5+ years of payroll experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory roleIndividual must have experience managing payroll for a multi-company organization with multiple state locationsExperience with payroll software and HRIS systems UKG experience is a PlusKnowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Skills
Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and payroll software.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
Preferred Skills
CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification.Experience with benefits administration and employee compensation
