Processes applications for admissions to the university, and counsels students regarding admissions requirements. Works in a specific admissions area, which includes high school applications, transfer applicants, and graduate admissions.
1. Reviews and evaluates application information received from applicants and processes undergraduate and graduate student applications according to policies and procedures.
2. Reviews and codes transcripts for decision evaluation into the student administration system; enters and updates applications in student administration system; and prepares new applicant files with unmatched documents and transcripts.
3. Determines and advises the admissions status of applicants based on institutional policies; determines student classification and residency based on state rules and regulations.
4. Evaluates student transcripts for transfer credit according to policies and procedures; matches and inputs transcripts and credentials into student administration system.
5. Provides information and assistance to prospective students with the application process.
6. Prepares correspondence to applicants and former students regarding admissions decisions and for additional information, as needed.
7. Verifies and processes payment of application fees in the student administration system.
8. Reviews and processes change of degree programs/plans and changes to academic records for new, current, and former students.
9. Provides customer service via phone, online chat, and face-to-face communications with prospective and current students with essential admissions and procedural information.
10. Assists with student orientation, open houses, and student service days.
11. Assists Senior Admissions Analyst with the discovery and update of duplicate student information in student administration system.
12. Maintains student academic files in the imaging system.
13. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: (60) semester hours college coursework and (3) years clerical or related experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
