POSITION SUMMARY:
The University of South Florida College of Nursing is seeking an outstanding full-time scientist tenure-track/tenured faculty member eligible for the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor. The incumbent will be committed to conducting trailblazing research in one or more of the following areas: data systems science, health determinants science, implementation science, and precision science with an overarching theme of achieving health equity. We are especially interested in candidates whose work relates to aging, cancer control, sleep medicine, HIV prevention and/or treatment, or those whose research may intersect with these topics. Faculty are expected to contribute to all three missions of the academic triad: teaching/mentoring and engaging in service while also conducting their high-impact research.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will collaborate to contribute to the scientific knowledge base through original research, publications, presentations, and mentorship. Develop an independent program of research and/or maintain a focused, extramurally funded program of research as principal investigator. Serve as academic advisor and mentor to pre and postdoctoral fellows and junior faculty as appropriate.
Will demonstrate engagement in innovative pedagogy through developing and teaching undergraduate and/or graduate-level nursing courses. May supervise graduate teaching assistants and advise students.
The aspirant member will engage in service activities at the university, college, professional, and community levels, including serving on faculty governance committees and special work groups. The incumbent will provide professional leadership within regional, local, national, and international professional societies and groups.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Doctoral degree from an accredited institution.
Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
Demonstrate a record of research achievement in nursing or related fields with a strong history of federal funding, demonstrated leadership building, and managing a research enterprise.
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and service.
If a nurse, must hold a clear, active, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN} in the State of Florida by the appointment date or must be a licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN} and listed on the Florida Department of Health by the appointment date.
PREFERRED:
Proven established record of accomplishment of academic productivity, established research program and/or grant portfolio.
Experience in graduate teaching, specifically experience teaching research-oriented doctoral students.
Experience advising and mentoring graduate students.
