Parkside Psychiatric Hospital & Clinic is a comprehensive mental healthcare system providing acute in-patient care, residential treatment, and outpatient therapy. The Director of Development (DD) is responsible for the design and execution of Parkside's annual resource development plan and associated fundraising activities. As a member of the Leadership Team, the DD will collaborate with Clinical Staff and Administration to identify opportunities for programmatic, operational and capital funding. The DD will direct all day-to-day fundraising operations including grant research and prospect identification, proposal development and tracking, donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. Reporting to the Chief External Strategies Officer (CESO), the DD will work closely with the Board of Directors, Development Committee, existing and prospective donors and volunteers to achieve resource development goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Director of Development
In collaboration with the board development committee and CESO, the DD establishes annual resource development goals and strategies
Develops, manages and evaluates ongoing resource development plans and associated fundraising activities including grant writing, annual giving, donor solicitations, special events, capital campaigns and planned giving
Identifies and cultivates corporate, foundation, and individual donors to create new contributed revenue opportunities as well as expanding existing funding resources
Serves as a community liaison and hospital spokesperson, representing the hospital's interests on boards, committees and community events
Manages all aspects of fundraising and friend-raising events, overseeing external contractors and volunteers when applicable
Manages By Your Side (Parkside's Patient Assistance Program) staff and is responsible for program goals, activities and outcomes
Manages development budgets and grant-specific budgets in collaboration with responsible hospital departments and staff
Implements best practices for gift processing, data management and reporting related to donor software
Is knowledgeable of and complies with all applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations governing fundraising activities
Maintains fit for duty. Acts in a professional manner and in compliance with Parkside policies and procedures
Performs other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum 5 years of successful fundraising experience and a minimum of 10 years' experience in development or related field such as public relations, marketing, business development or sales.
Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) certification preferred
