JOB DESCRIPTION : Revenue Account Analyst

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

JOB SUMMARY

The Revenue Accounting Analyst is responsible for supporting the Revenue Management Group by managing critical aspects of revenue accounting, including reconciling accounts, overseeing invoicing processes, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This role requires a keen attention to detail, expertise in revenue-related accounting, and experience with process documentation. The Revenue Accounting Analyst will play an essential role in optimizing revenue recognition and invoicing, contributing to the financial accuracy and overall success of the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform reconciliation of revenue accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Oversee the invoicing process, including generation, review, and distribution of client invoices in a timely manner.
• Manage ad hoc and one-time client fee invoicing, ensuring customized billing as required.
• Ensure general ledger (GL) account reconciliations are completed accurately and identify any discrepancies for correction.
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop and update process documentation for revenue accounting and invoicing procedures.
• Analyze revenue data to identify trends and support financial decision-making within the Revenue Management Group.
• Support periodic reporting and ad hoc analysis for senior management.
• Assist with process improvement initiatives within the Revenue Management Group as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Working knowledge of SQL to assist in data extraction and analysis.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data handling and financial reporting.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in revenue or financial reporting. Solid understanding of general ledger (GL) account reconciliation processes. Demonstrated experience with revenue accounting, including account reconciliation and invoicing management.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Willingness to collaborate across teams and adapt to changing account needs and processes.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in resolving accounting discrepancies and process improvements.
