Assistant Market Manager (501) (Marketing)
Assists the Market Manager in the directing and coordinating of staff in providing customer service activities as required by the Spinx Market. Reviews and acts upon customer requests, complaints, and inquiries to ensure quality customer service. Acts as the lead manager in the Market Manager's absence.
Has a shared responsibility for maximizing sales and profits within the store. Controls store expenses, monitors, and corrects shrinkage problems as outlined in the Inventory Management Plan (IMP) and operates within established budgets.
Local Engagement:
Proactively engage local businesses, hotels, and residences to promote our offerings, establish partnerships, and increase brand awareness.
Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and execute marketing strategies that drive customer traffic and enhance the reputation of our stores.
Conduct market research to identify potential business opportunities and trends and provide insights to the Market Manager.
Sales and Profit Maximization:
Work closely with the Market Manager to develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and maximize profitability.
Monitor sales performance, identify areas for improvement, and propose corrective actions to optimize sales and enhance the customer experience.
Regularly analyze sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product assortment adjustments and promotional activities.
Store Efficiency and Expense Management:
Collaborate with the Market Manager and Store Operations team to identify and implement operational improvements that enhance store efficiency and reduce costs.
Monitor and control expenses, including labor costs, supplies, and other operational expenditures, ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines.
Conduct regular store audits to ensure compliance with operational standards and identify areas for improvement.
Training and Development:
Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for store employees, focusing on customer service, alcohol regulations, safety protocols, and environmental sustainability.
Ensure all employees are knowledgeable about product offerings, promotions, and company policies to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, adjusting as necessary to improve employee performance and overall store efficiency.
Assists in the Coaching of Associates and Secondary Management Personnel within the store to ensure compliance with Merchandising, Pricing, Food Service and Administrative requirements.
Plans and prepares work schedules in accordance with Labor Scheduler and assigns employees to specific duties. Ensures that Store and Food Operation is in compliance with all appropriate, local state and federal regulations including, but not limited to hours of work, wages, age restrictions, fair employment laws, OSHA, DHEC, etc.
Conducts customer service, alcohol, safety, and environmental training programs.
Coordinates training for employees. Assists in the evaluating of performance, implements disciplinary procedures as required and properly documents actions.
Leads by positive example and demonstrates current ability and knowledge of all store functions, including all point-of-sale related equipment, reporting, food prep, cleaning, stocking, etc.
Responsible/accountable for the facility, its overall physical image, maintenance, equipment, safe environment, inventory, cash & cash equivalencies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for direction of Market Teammates and Secondary Management personnel. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, resolving problems and documenting accordingly.
