POSITION SUMMARY:
The Department of Internal Medicine at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a faculty physician devoted to diagnosing and treating Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD), including ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. The USF Health team includes physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and others that work together to offer long-term relief for IBD symptoms, to minimize flare-ups and to help achieve longer periods of remission. Clinical practice includes hospital rotations, inpatient and outpatient endoscopy, and conducts ambulatory clinics in the IBD Center. The successful candidate should also have an interest in building medical/educational research footprint focused on conducting a nationally competitive research program.MINIMUM:
Doctoral/Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. For Associate or Full Professor - Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization. Strong interest in esophageal and liver diseases and general motility in addition to inflammatory bowel disease.
Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent required. To perform this position, the candidate will need to obtain and maintain a full un-restricted FL Medical License, maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals he/she is assigned to perform clinical duties. The candidate will participate in the teaching of residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical medicine. us be board-certified/board-eligible in Internal Medicine / Gastroenterology / Inflammatory Bowel Disease.The University of South Florida is a high-impact global research university dedicated to student success.
