Quality Control Analyst (Finance)
Primary purpose:
Oversight of Hiland Crude's quality control management to ensure system wide balancing of gravity, vapor pressure and sulfur. Coordinates between two business units (Natural Gas and Products) and several stakeholder groups including, but not limited to, Commercial, Marketing, Measurement, Operation, Scheduling and Control Room. Performs duties as assigned, which include, but are not limited to, SCADA system monitoring, creating and utilizing system balancing spreadsheets to verify overall system balance, run calculations and analysis for several blending and injection locations across the system and help with optimization efforts across the system to enhance company profitability.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
• Provide Hiland Crude system monitoring and analysis of product quality such as but not limited to gravity and vapor pressure.
• Conduct system risk assessments and recommend corrective actions for quality control concerns
• Participate in project scoping requested by Marketing, Commercial and Operations, new well connect discussions, and help with development and management of QC-related projects.
• Daily monitoring of SCADA, trending reports, and generating quality calculation spreadsheets to provide to the Director for system balancing decisions.
• Daily management of injection and blending of various products such as, condensate, NG gasoline, and low gravity crude on the system.
• Daily monitoring of system's product quality, gravity and vapor pressure readings, while preparing and distributing daily and weekly reports to stakeholders.
• Run calculations and analysis for increases of injection at multiple points across Hiland Crude
• Run calculations and analysis for any new location for injection or blending or for any new products that might be considered for blending.
• Track gravity and vapor pressure from all gathering, receipt and delivery locations.
• Identify opportunities to optimize the system and further enhance company profitability.
• Coordinate the different critical stakeholders to continually manage gravity and vapor pressure. Critical Stakeholders include, Commercial, Marketing, Measurement, Operations, Scheduling and Control Room.

Position Requirements
Minimum requirements:
Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience/specific knowledge:
• Minimum of 3 years of industry-related experience.
Certifications, licenses, registrations:
• A satisfactory driving record as determined by the Company and a current, valid state driver's license.

• Analysis: Need strong data analysis skills, Excel skills, and math skills. Have the ability to take a large amount of data and process the information into useful system balancing formulas.

• Effective and Professional Communication: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with two business units, all levels of management, and several different groups. Be able to clearly and effectively communicate both orally and in writing, using good grammatical form, on general issues, as well as on technical issues pertaining to area of responsibility.
• Computer Applications: Strong Excel skills required. Must be able to create spreadsheets and utilize or manipulate current spreadsheets to run gravity and vapor pressure calculations. Must be proficient in Word. Within a reasonable time frame, must become proficient in utilizing database and visualization programs, such as Power BI, with the ability to create and modify spreadsheets, as well as design and run reports.
• Mathematics: Apply good math skills for calculating and conversion work.

Physical demands:
• Routine walking, bending, stooping associated with an office environment is to be expected.
Working conditions:
• Must be able and willing to travel to terminal facilities (where exposure to smells and fumes of refined petroleum products may be present) and attend off-site/out-of-area meetings/conferences.
• Must carry a cell phone and be able and willing to respond at any hour of the day or night to all after-hours and/or weekend/holiday issues, including emergency situations.
Supervisory responsibility:
• None.
Preferred education, experience, certifications, competencies, skills, and abilities:
(Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position.)
• Bachelor's or equivalent experience.
• Well-rounded experience in laboratory, terminal, or products movement operations.
• Specific working experience with product handling, analysis and testing, and record-keeping.
• Computer knowledge beyond the general working knowledge of typical office skills.
• Knowledge of refined petroleum pipeline/terminal facilities - operation, equipment requirements and products movement.
• Familiarity with pipeline regulations, tariffs and agreements.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
