ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Department of Urology is committed to providing excellent patient care in all the subspecialties of Urology to a regionally and socially diverse group of patients. It is also committed to educating medical students in the basics of Urology and training residents to be future practitioners and leaders in our sub-specialty. The Department maintains a Division of Research to expand the frontiers of knowledge in Urology and is committed to developing personal and professional goals of our faculty and staff.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of the Nutrition and Education Program Manager is to develop, coordinate, implement, and market nutrition education and wellness programs for the Stone Center of Excellence in the Department of Urology, under the direction of the Stone Center Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Development and implement broad behavior modification strategies for patients of the Stone Center of Excellence.
Provide nutrition counseling, dietetic plans, and medical nutrition therapy to patients to enhance the probability of non-recurrence of kidney stones and other medical conditions.
Provide guidance and recommendations on nutrition and education programs for the Stone Center and other Urology patients.
Develop objectives and goals for patient nutrition and education programs.
Coordinate group sessions on nutrition for patients.
Assist with maintaining and providing reliable and easy to understand information for the Stone Center of Excellence web page.
Act as the department liaison, when required, with local stakeholder groups, while performing assigned duties.
Provide nutrition education lectures or presentations upon request.
Employee will be required to see and treat the patient and provide a plan for care along
with follow up and submit billing for the visits.
Participate in training programs to enhance individual skills and proficiency related to job responsibilities.
Review current developments, literature, technology, and technical sources of information related to job responsibilities.
Ensure adherence to rules and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
An earned bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in dietetics, nutrition or related field (master's degree preferred)
A minimum four years of work experience in planning, administering and evaluating nutrition educational materials and nutrition counseling.
Registered Dietitian (RD) credential required.
